Hi Gerald, If it's Keith Thompson you're looking for you'll doubtless find him on Pendle Hill, maybe with his foot on a brass rail in 'The Swan with Two Necks' waiting for somebody
All the best, Gwilym ps- a lovely atmospheric shot
It makes me incredibly sad that this is that poor lad that Brady and Hindley didn't have the human courtesy of relieving his mum of the pain of never finding her son's body in order to give him a decent burial and some closure for herself.
It still works Gerald, I only wish it wasn't so powerful and sad, but kudos for posting this, haiku aren't fluffy after all, just true to whatever is out there.
On a brighter note my Keith is a long distance hill runner with Clayton le Moors Harriers and he may sometimes be found quenching his thirst at a lonley moorland watering hole or bending like a shepherd to cup a lakeland stream...

I'm being ignorent here, but I don't know who Keith is, but you know what? I love this haiku! I love the photo!
Good to see a post from you Gerald, I've missed you.
This is Saddleworth Moor
The reference is actually to Keith Bennett whose body has still not been found (he was a victim of Ian Brady & Myra Hindley).
I did want to see what reaction this might get before explaining the references.
